South Caernarfon Creameries scoops top prizes at World Cheese Awards

South Caernarfon Creameries have scooped two top awards at the prestigious World Cheese Awards. A gold award was bestowed upon the Creameries’ Extra Mature Cheddar and their Mild Cheddar was awarded silver.

’The internationally acclaimed Wold Cheese Awards are becoming one of the most prestigious recognitions of quality within the cheese world. It is an extremely high accolade to receive an award as over 2,500 entries were received from 34 countries’ explains Lynne King, Commercial Director at South Caernarfon Creameries. ’We are obviously extremely pleased that two of our cheeses won. The awards are extremely credible as the cheese is blind tasted, so the recognition is very much based upon the cheese’s flavour and texture. For us, the quality and taste is fundamental as opposed to highly glossy packaging; that’s why these awards are so welcome.’
