Spotlight on livestock issues at Wormbridge NFU group AGM
NFU members in western Herefordshire are being urged to attend a meeting focussing on the latest issues affecting the livestock industry.
NFU headquarters livestock advisor Alistair Johnson will be the guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Wormbridge group of the organisation, which includes the Broad Oak and Dore branches.
The meeting takes place on November 29 at 7.30pm at the Temple Bar in Ewyas Harold.
Broad Oak and Dore group secretary Philippa Jones said: "We are delighted that Alistair has agreed to travel from London to speak at our annual meeting and we would urge every member to make the effort to attend.
"Alistair will be concentrating on current issues such as sheep ID, the lifting of the OTMS, the older cattle disposal scheme and the consultation on the new Hill Farm Allowance Scheme.
"All these issues are of direct relevance to local businesses and there will be an opportunity for members to ask questions and have an open discussion on the challenges currently facing the livestock sector."
Refreshments will be provided and the branch AGM - which will include the election of branch officers for 2005 and 2006 - will be held after the guest speaker's slot.
