Still much to do - NFU Cumbria County Chairman enters busy second year in office

As NFU Cumbrian County Chairman, Trevor Wilson, prepares to embark on his second year in office, he insists there is still a lot for him to do.

"I want to encourage farmers to work in partnership with government on many issues," said Mr Wilson, who farms at Low Bankside, Cark in Cartmell near Grange-over-Sands.

"We need to put the Government's past failings to the back of our minds and work together to produce a policy that enables us to produce food on a level playing field with the rest of Europe."

Mr Wilson's second term in office will be officially marked at the Cumbria County Annual Dinner which will take place at the Westmorland Hotel in Tebay on Monday 22 January – starting at 7.30pm with dinner being served at 8pm.

The guest speaker at the dinner will be the NFU's Deputy President, Meurig Raymond.

Tickets are still available for the dinner and are available from all the Cumbrian NFU group offices. Tickets cost £15 for a three course meal and coffee.
