More than 1,700 lots went under the hammer at auctioneers Halls’ popular monthly collective machinery auction at Stone, near Kidderminster on May 27.
Top price of the day went to a Case MX 135 4wd tractor which sold for £9,000. The tractor section also included a John Deere 2850 4wd at £5,200, a Benford pivot steer dumper at £3,700 and a Massey Ferguson 575 with MF80X loader and bucket at £2,300.
A selection of quads and bikes sold to a high of £900 for a Polaris diesel quadbike.
The vehicles and trailers sections had a high number of entries, with the best price achieved by a Land Rover Discovery, which made £1,850. Other vehicles included a MG sports car at £950 and an Iveco Ford lorry at £1,000.
Ifor Williams Trailers were again in demand, with top price of £1,700 being paid for a stock trailer. An interesting lot in this section was a catering trailer, which made £500.
It was the right time of year to sell farm implements, with a Hesston 4590 conventional baler going for £5,400, two Marshall 10 ton trailers selling for £1,800 and £1,500 and a Bomford hedgecutter making £2,100.
