Stuart Beer becomes chairman of the Agricultural Industries Confederation

Stuart Beer has been appointed Chairman of the Agricultural Industries Confederation, succeeding Richard Banks who has chaired AIC since its inception.

Stuart, who is Fertiliser Director of Terra Nitrogen (UK), was previously Vice Chairman of AIC and chairs its Fertiliser Sector.

"In the two years since its foundation, AIC has made great strides. Our voice is being heard and sought by policy makers who previously had not taken account of the agri supply sectors. I think we all owe a debt of gratitude to Richard Banks for our progress to date," said Mr Beer.

"However, there is still much to do. Since its inception, AIC has been committed to forging strong links with other organisations serving agriculture. In a time of such tremendous change, we all need to work together to ensure we retain a viable agricultural industry. While within AIC we must continue to ensure that we address members needs and deliver real value back to them."
