Success for Milk Link at Royal Bath and West Show

Milk Link, the UK’s leading farmer-owned dairy co-operative and largest cheese manufacturer, excelled at today’s Royal Bath and West Show, with its Creameries collecting 16 awards for its cheeses, including first place in the prestigious Danisco Grand Prix category for Taw Valley Creamery’s mature Cheddar cheese.

Award wins included two gold prizes for Milk Link’s Tuxford and Tebbutt Stilton Creamery; two gold awards for Lockerbie Creamery’s salted butter; one gold award for Taw Valley Creamery’s organic Cheddar; and one gold award for Malpas Creamery’s Cheshire cheese.

Milk Link also won two trophies - the Royal Bath and West Trophy for Best in the Butter Class for Lockerbie Creamery’s butter and The Gordon Perry Organic Cheese Perpetual Salver trophy for the best organic cheese went to Taw Valley Creamery for its Cheddar.

Milk Link received a further four silver awards with Tuxford and Tebbutt Creamery winning two awards in the ’Stilton cheese whole’ and ’Stilton cheese cut in half’ categories; Taw Valley Creamery was awarded one prize for its Cheddar; and Malpas Creamery won an award for its Cheshire cheese.

The results delighted the Chief Executive of Milk Link Neil Kennedy who said: "Our expert cheese makers deserve this recognition for their flair, dedication and skills which deliver the really exceptional taste and quality of our products.


"The acknowledgement here at the Royal Bath and West Show for the excellence of our Creameries makes me and everyone involved with Milk Link very proud. The company also manufactures over 20 varieties of Cheddars, blue Stiltons and British regional cheeses for the retail, food service and ingredients sectors.
