Supreme Pig to be selected at prestigious Royal Show by Lancashire Farmer
James Appleton, of Stanley Farm, near Ormskirk will be selecting the crème de la crème from the country's top pigs at this year's Royal Show, Sunday, 29 June to Wednesday, 2 July at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
As an experienced exhibitor and judge James has been breeding and showing pigs for fifty years, but he has never had the difficult task of selecting the supreme pig. "To pick one overall winner for the 2003 Royal will be no mean feat, but it will certainly be an honour," says James.
James also will be judging the young pig interbreed and pig pairs championships on Tuesday, 1 July. The supreme pig championship will be held on the show's 'champions day', Wednesday 2 July.
