Syllabus for the NRoSO Annual Training Event
Details of the content of the second Annual NRoSO Training Event have been now been released. This year's annual training event will include four modules; spray stores, sprayers and buffer zones, and all events will be rounded off with a topical update which will include information on regulation changes.
The module on stores will look at store location, store design and store management. The sprayer module will help sprayer operators ensure the sprayer is ready for work and prepare for the annual sprayer test. The buffer module is intended to revisit buffer zone regulations, why they are needed and how sprayer operators can work within the rules. The annual event will be rounded off with a topical update looking at changes to regulations, crop protection management plans, the inherent risk associated with slug pellet application and water sources for filling sprayers.
Jack Ward, Chief Executive of City & Guilds NPTC, the body that administers the National Register of Sprayer Operators, explained that "great effort has been made to consult with the industry about course content to ensure that it reflects industry priorities and best practice. We have been developing the course over several months in order to deliver practical content specifically targeted to sprayer operators. We are committed to delivering events that are regarded as worthwhile and valuable and we hope that the extensive consultation that has taken place throughout the development of this course will ensure that we provide training events which are fit for purpose and make a positive contribution to sprayer operation across the country."
