The contest dubbed ’Nyama Choma’ is organised by the Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) through its Safari Lager brand.

’’The competition will involve bars to be chosen in the three regions,’’ Safari Lager brand manager Fimbo Butallah said at the launch.

’’The previous competition involved only Dar es Salaam, but this year we have increased the number of participants by incorporating Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions,’’ he added.

Butallah said 10m/- would be contested with the winner carting home 1m/-. The runner-up will receive 800,000/-, the third placed winner will get 600,000/- while 400,000/- will go to the fourth placed.

He said the bars would compete in roasting chicken, mutton and beef and that the contestants would be tested in cleanliness, experience and period of time, among others.

’’Three chefs from the participating regions will be the judges and the finalists will be determined by votes,’’ Butallah said.
