Top Devon land student honoured

A Devon man is to receive a top award at the Royal Show for agricultural valuation.

Justin Lascelles of Sidmouth has won the Royal Agricultural Society of England's (RASE) Talbot-Ponsonby prize for agricultural valuation after attaining first place in the entrance examinations to the central association of agricultural valuers.

The Royal Show will be taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire between Sunday, 29 June and Wednesday 2 July.

Angela Lea, RASE's head of policy says: "Justin gained the highest marks across three examinations, and has done extremely well to win this award. We hope his trip to Stoneleigh will be a relaxing break after all that studying."

Justin will attend a celebration reception at the Royal Pavilion on Sunday, 29 June.

In 1956 the RASE instituted the award of a medal to the candidate securing the highest marks in the practical examination conducted by the chartered land agents' society. It is now presented to the first placed candidate in the entrance examinations to the central association of agricultural valuers. It is named after the late Mr Arthur Talbot-Ponsonby, past president of the CLAS and former chairman of the finance committee of the RASE.
