Training for Egg Producers

MVP Training is pleased to be able to announce that the first programme of training courses has been organised for egg producers in the Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire region.

The courses are aimed at all egg producers in the region who produce eggs under the Lion code and RSPCA / Freedom Foods scheme. They will enable producers to reach and maintain assurance scheme status in the future. These courses benefit from funding under the RDPE programme organised by Lantra and Yorkshire Forward in this region.

The first two programmes of courses are concentrating on Veterinary Health and Welfare.

Subjects covered in the courses include:

Disease recognition Common & current disease conditions

Notifiable Disease

Biosecurity

Welfare including the recent legislation

Vaccination and Medication administration

Laboratory sampling – how to send good samples

Other courses based on egg management, health and safety, food hygiene and vermin / pest control will be taking place in early 2009.

The sessions will be structured in smaller groups to encourage good interaction between the trainer and the delegates. Venues will be selected which are convenient for the producers and will include some sessions on the farm to apply the theory that has been taught in the classroom.

Cost: Veterinary: £45 per person, per module,

Non-Veterinary: £35 per person, per module

Course fees are based on the maximum number of 8 participants and may be adjusted for smaller groups.

Fees are payable in advance, to secure a place and subject to VAT at the normal rate.
