U.S., S. Korea resume beef import talks; to meet again Mon.

The United States and South Korea held a round of talks Friday during which the U.S. side requested further easing of restrictions on import of beef, the Korean Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said.

During the meeting, the U.S. delegation stressed that the United States follow the World Organization for Animal Health standards for managing the risk of "mad cow" disease.
