UK, China partner on sustainable agriculture

UK Environment Secretary Hillary Benn and China’s Agriculture Minister Sun Zhengcai this week signed a three-year agreement to cooperate on promoting sustainable agriculture.

The signatories launched the Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Network to help develop and implement collaboration between the two countries in hopes of improving soil management, expanding the use of biomass and biofuels within agriculture, and addressing ways in which agriculture contributes to and must adapt to climate change.
