BEEF PRODUCTION FIGURES

The United States of America with 96 million head of cattle produces nearly a quarter of the worlds beef production, it generates 12 million tones per year.

The United Kingdom with 10 million head of cattle produces,750,000 tonnes of beef, whilst France with 17 million cattle produces 1.6 million tones of beef and is the largest producer in the EU.

Consumption of beef in the UK is 17.3 kg per person a year, as opposed to Argentina’s 73 kg per person

The mentioned countries have been gradually increasing the slaughter weights of cattle in recent years to minimize costs and maximize production.
