NEWHOUSE Black Colorado, has become the first black Limousin to be crowned champion at a British Limousin Cattle Society show and sale. It took the title at Perth and went on to attract the top price of 16,000gns for owners R Adam and Son of Angus. Born in August 2007, Colorado carried a beef value of LM+38, putting it in the top one per cent of the breed.

Colarado, which won the junior and overall supreme bull titles was bought by a commercial breeder from Orkney. Overall, the sale saw 18 bulls make 5,000gns or more – including two over 10,000gns – and 84 bulls averaged £3,993. A 77 per cent clearance rate grossed £356,938.
