Bluetongue in Norfolk.

Award winning dairy herd in Norfolk, belonging to the Hill family is having terrible problems with bluetongue, now losing a total of 11 cattle in the last 16 months.

Mr Hill should be milking 78 dairy cows however is now milking only 54, as the disease has taken some of his best stock.

The Hill family has been hit both financially and emotionally, as the herd has been the families pride and joy for many years.

Mr Hill has been checking his herd regularly along with his wife Judith at Beehive Farm, Lound in Norfolk. They have been in consultation with bluetongue expert Dr Chris Oura in Newmarket, yet still the cows seem to get lesions on the mouth and it always seems to strike the best cows in the herd.
