United Kingdom-Butchers promote cheaper cuts of meat.
A new promotional kit has been launched by EBLEX to help butchers through difficult trading times and keep up meat sales.
The kit, prepared in the light of changing consumer spending patterns, encourages shop customers to continue to buy beef and lamb by advising on how best to get value for money.
The posters and booklets provide tips and ideas on making better use of more traditional meat cuts, as well as recommending cheaper ’forgotten’ cuts such as beef shin, brisket, bone-in shoulder joints and recipe ideas to inspire shoppers.
Free to Quality Standard scheme members, 1000 packs were snapped up in just ten days.
The kit includes product labels to promote specific cuts, four large posters to promote tips and ideas, and Get more out of your shopping budget booklets for customers to take away.
"EBLEX recognises that times are tough for everyone at the moment and we wanted to do something to help butchers stay ahead of the game," said retail project manager for EBLEX, Mike Whittemore.
"This kit was designed to encourage customers to think about different cuts and to ask their butcher how they can make the most of them."
