United Kingdom-KFC try Halal products in London.

KFC has launched a trial in a selection of its London fast food outlets which will see the stores offering halal products.

Consumers heading to the company´s Bethnal Green, Tottenham Hale, Upton Park, Lea Bridge Road, Beckton, Edmonton, Hounslow West and Forest Gate outlets will be able to get chicken products fully approved by the Halal Food Authority.

KFC vice-president of marketing Jennelle Tilling said: "We want to see how customers respond to the trial, to see if this is something that allows us to make our great tasting food available to a broader range of customers."

The fast food firm will use existing suppliers to provide the stores with halal meat and has reassured customers that non-halal products are available at its other outlets.

Domino´s Pizza opened its first 100 per cent halal store in Birmingham earlier this year, which offered alternative toppings, such as spicy beef sausage instead of pork.
