United Kingdom-Pig butchered and stolen from farm.
A PIG worth more than £200 is thought to have been killed before it was stolen from a Hilton farm.
Traces of blood were found by the owners in the pen at Willow Orchard Farm, in Uttoxeter Road, where the pig was kept.
Suzie Musgrove, a joint owner of the farm, said she realised the animal was missing when only two of their three pigs came to feed on Saturday morning.
She said the 27-week-old animal was due to be slaughtered, along with the two other pigs, this Sunday.
The female pig is believed to have been stolen between 10pm on Friday and 7am on Saturday.
Mrs Musgrove said: "It is scary because who stole the pig knew which was the best one to go for and we don’t want this to happen to any of our other animals."
Anyone with information is asked to call Derbyshire police on 0345 123 3333.
