United Kingdom-RSPCA want new meat labelling.
UNITED KINGDOM.
RSPCA WANT NEW MEAT LABELLING.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), believe that new measures should be imposed by supermarkets that inform the customers of the handling and husbandry of the animals, that produced the meat that they are buying.
They are suggesting a voluntary labeling method, that could be imposed by the meat processor in conjunction with the supermarkets.
The main concern seems to be the welfare of pigs, which is similar to the concerns over the welfare of chickens and laying hens.
The seems little doubt that the move is very positive, and no logical reason why the retailers cannot adhere to the recommendations, according to industry experts.
