UK retailing giant Tesco, are not going to expand their Fresh & Easy stores in the United States, until the current economic crisis is over.

In an interview with the London Times, Tim Mason the CEO of Fresh & Easy, said "plans to expand into northern California for the moment, our plans to have 200 stores operating in California, Arizona and Nevada by February, are now put back to November 2009".

Tesco have 100 stores operating in the USA currently.

The Tesco chain, control 40% of all retail food sales in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile the British pound has continued to fall against the US dollar.
