United Kingdom-the debacle beggars belief, when you consider that the disease was in fact eradicated in the fifties, before man went to the moon and television if you had one were black and white.

The other quit astonishing thing is the fact that TB reactor cattle can go into the food chain and there is no doubt that humans can catch TB. However foot and mouth cattle as well as BSE cattle cannot go into the food chain and there is no way that humans can be contaminated with either.

U.K. farmers say bovine tuberculosis is "out of control" after the number of cattle slaughtered for having the disease has risen by a third, U.K. newspaper The Observer reports Sunday. The disease could cost taxpayers GBP1 billion over the next four years, the paper says.
