MEAT COMPANY AXES 300 JOBS.
Up to 300 jobs are being lost at the Tulip meat factory in Wirral, in the North West of England, the company has announced.
The famous meat brands of the company are Danepak, Stagg, Plumrose and of course the world famous Tulip brand.
The company has stated, that there is no viable option other than to close.
The local unions has said, members are shocked bitter and angry over the decision, as the firm have begun consultations with the union leaders.
The managing director of the company Peter Judge, said " As a site we have been working very hard to reduce our operating costs".
He went on to say that the closure is no reflection on the workforce.
This comes in the wake of Woolworth’s closing 200 stores and Mark& Spencer closing 27 stores
