MEAT TRADE UNIVERSTITY SCHEME.

Some of the largest meat companies in the UK and Ireland are supporting a new university scheme for the meat industry.

Cranwick County Foods, Dawn Meats, Hilton Meats, Tulip and 2 Sisters Food Group are supporting the scheme to date and more companies are expected to join.The scheme comprising of seven subjects embraces farm livestock production to supermarket shelf.

The University of Bristol is offering graduate and post graduate courses, the students will be able to join the affiliated companies on completion.

This is very similar the courses that used to be available from the Institute of Meat, at Technical Colleges throughout Great Britain.These courses were wonderful for young people, who wanted to make a career in the meat industry.

Split into practical and theory, they took the students from the breeds of cattle, how to cut the carcass and how best to cook the meat.
