TYSONS BUY INTO BRAZIL.

Tyson Foods Inc, announced on in November, the acquisition of three poultry companies and processing plants in southern Brazil.

Agreements have been signed with Macedo Agroindustrial, who are well known on the domestic market and new player Avicola Itaioplis, in the state of Santa Catarina in the south of Brazil, the deal is with domestic market and good export potential.

Rick Greubel, vice president of the new group and president of Tyson Foods, said that the Brazilians consume 37 kilos of chicken, per person per year and this market interests them.

He went on to say that Brazil, is the worlds largest exporter of chicken and third largest producer after the USA and China.

Tysons raised over a billion dollars, recently in bond issues and share sales.

The money raised is for reducing debt and entering into new ventures.

Tysons are the largest beef packers, in the United States.
