While the sale of beef giant National Beef is under the scrutiny of the Department of Justice, the company has turned in a loss of $2.8 million, which while bad is better than the $24.5 million loss for the same time last year.

The company is the fourth largest beef processor in he United States and sold out to JBS-Swift last year, however the sale has not been approved by the government.
