UNITED STATES-CATTLE RUSTLERS ARRESTED.

Two Limestone County men have been arrested in a modern day cattle-rustling case.

Brian Gaskin of Thornton and James Abraham III of Groesbeck are charged theft of cattle less than ten head, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association said Wednesday.

The arrests stem from an investigation the association launched after three head of cattle were stolen in Thornton.

TSCRA Special Ranger Marvin Wills tracked the stolen cattle to a Clifton livestock auction, the association said.

Limestone County sheriff’s deputies arrested Gaskin and Abraham, the association said.

"Cattle theft is alive and well in Texas, which is why public awareness is so important," TSCRA Region 5 Supervisor Hal Dumas said.

"Thanks to the help of the Limestone County Sheriff’s office and an anonymous informant, Special Ranger Wills was able to locate the cattle after a search of livestock auction records and return the stolen cattle to the owner."

Gaskin and Abraham were each ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Wills is one of 28 special TSCRA rangers stationed in Texas and Oklahoma whom the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have commissioned as Special Rangers.
