Fast-casual restaurant chain Qdoba Mexican Grill announced that it will cut the price of its chicken entrées nearly 20 percent when they are purchased as part of a combo meal.

The average cost of a Qdoba chicken entrée, regular drink and side of chips and salsa is $8.70. The new chicken combo meal will be available for $6.99.

"We understand that many Americans are trying to save money when it comes to their meals," said Qdoba CEO Gary Beisler. "We’re offering our customers an alternative to the often-boring, brown-bag lunch with an affordable, handcrafted meal option that’s hot, healthy and delicious."

Qdoba, a Denver-based, wholly owned subsidiary of San Diego-based Jack in the Box, has more than 470 locations.
