UNITED STATES-ECO FREINDLY FARMING.

The Simcoe County branch of the Ecological Farmers’ Association of Ontario is inviting all farmers or would-be farmers to its next farm tour and meeting Saturday at 1 p. m.

The tour features the greenhouse and former operation of Edencrest Farm at 2904 Rainbow Valley Rd., W., in Springwater Township.

Owners Jim and Maureen Giffen raise grass-fed Angus-cross beef, chickens, crops including certified Community Shared Agriculture organic vegetables and meat, a greenhouse, bed and breakfast, and host dinner parties with hay rides or sleigh rides.

Also, Jim Ward will be on hand to discuss the corn stove he build to heat the new 1,700-square foot greenhouse. Information will also be available from L&R Shelters, who provided the greenhouse.
