New York corned beef producer Levonian Brothers Inc is to close its Troy plant and shift production to New York City.
A company in the Bronx, Fancy Foods Inc., will now make and sell all of Levonian Brothers’ meat products, including roast beef and ham.
Fancy Foods has been acting as a distributor to the company already a report in Times Union says.
The business in Troy in 1947, but the plant is believed to have been struggling for some time.
The terms of the agreement that will transfer the name and production to Fancy Foods has not been disclosed.
The 15 to 20 employees who work at the Troy plant were notified of the closure a few weeks ago.
