UNITED STATES.
FARM OUTPUT MAY DECREASE.
According to the chairman of the World Outlook Board, Gerry Bange, farm output could decline in the United States in 2009.
Bange said, that calf numbers are down and the cost of feed is crippling the poultry and pork industry.
He went on to say that with the economic downturn, people are adjusting their expenditures and "Put it all together and that means lower meat production as well as lower prices for pork, beef and poultry next year" according to Mr Bange.
