H.J HEINZ NEW FOOD PLANT.

Heinz started construction on a new $105 million frozen food plant in Florence USA late last year, for the production of Weight Watchers and Boston Market produce.

Heinz seemed to have hit the jackpot with weight watchers, unlike their previous forays into the meat industry especially in the United Kingdom.

Heinz took over the beef packers Moss Waltham in Wellingborough Northampton and this was not a success, this was followed by the purchase of Leansock in Shrewsbury abattoir, which they later sold.

Both companies were taken over by Irish meat wholesalers Shrewsbury by Tara Meats and Wellingborough by AIBP
