United States- Large investment in Brazil by Louis Dreyfus.

LOUIS DREYFUS SPEND $1 BILLION.
American grain giant Louis Dreyfus, is planning a surge in its ethanol production in Brazil with the investment of over one billion dollars in new mills, they reported on Friday.
The company plans to increase its crushing capacity to 20 million tons at its eight existing mills. A large part of this new investment will be into the production of more ethanol.
The global financial crisis, means that a shake out of weaker debt ridden mills could occur, with better capitalized players like Louis Dreyfus stepping in.
Bruno Melcher, president of LDC Bioenergia ( the Dreyfus ethanol company), said " The sugar and ethanol industry is offering a large number off opportunities and we are looking", it was reported in the newspaper Valor Economic on Thursday.
Dreyfus are very big grain players in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, for many years they were large players in the beef industry of Australia and Argentina. Julia Dreyfus the chairman’s daughter is better known for her role as Christine in the popular television series Sienfeld.
