United States-More costs for farmers.

UNITED STATES-MORE BURDONS ON FARMERS.

Iowa Senator Tom Harkin and Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss, Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Ag Committee, have asked the Environmental Protection Agency to take into account the impact a recent ruling would have on farmers. In a letter to EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, the Senators urged the EPA to ensure that any resulting regulatory requirements eliminate unnecessary burdens on farmers and the Agency, provide uniformity in regulation for pesticides and allow for continued emergency use of pesticides.

The Senators wrote - we believe EPA must take into account the substantial impact this ruling would have on farmers using pesticide products. We ask the EPA to make any regulatory changes as smooth and seamless as possible.
