United States-Nations largest beef packer go into Bio.Fuels.

TYSON FOODS AND BIO FUELS.

Tyson foods the largest beef producer and second largest pork producer in the United States, have entered into a $138 million bio chemical plant deal with Syntroleum Corporation, that is to be built in Louisiana.

The plant will produce75 million gallons of fuel a year, generated from a mixture of animal fat and waste product, from meat plants and soy product.

There will be 250 staff employed at the plant, the idea of utilizing abattoir waste fits in with Tysons meat trade operations.The benefits of this type of plant are two fold, one is the fact that animal oils are far cheaper to produce than vegetable oils. Secondly the system removes the pollution elements associated with meat plant by products.

Tysons were founded in 1935, with their headquarters at Springdale Arkansas, they are listed as the worlds largest processors of beef, pork and poultry products and the worlds second largest food company.

The company has over 300 plants in 80 different countries and a workforce of 104,000.


This ground breaking new technology into fuels, could be part of the answer to the global fuel shortage.
