UNITED STATES-NFU CHIEF STEPS DOWN.
The elected leader of the 300,000 National Farmers Union Tom Buis will resign to become chief executive of Growth Energy, in mid-March . Buis was elected president of the NFU in 2006, He has a long career of service to agriculture, serving as head of the Washington office of NFU, and an aide to former South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle. Buis slao maintains and intrest in the family farming operation in Indiana.
The national Farmers Union will hold their annual meeting March 8-10 outside of Washington, DC. Voting delegates will elect his successor at that time.
