KOSHER MEAT EXPANSION.

The demise of the troubled Agriprocessors in Postville, which was for many years the worlds largest Kosher abattoir, has caused other meat operators to apply to the Board of Schikita for a Kosher license.

Hain Pure Protein, from New York State, are building a poultry line to produce kosher fowl, ducks turkeys and geese in the traditional Kosher manner.

The new line will employ an additional personnel of 90 people, that help fill some of the void that has been created.

Depending how soon the other plants can get their approvals, to be up and running, will indicate the viability of the sale of the plant in Postville.

Having said this, there is nothing to prevent the Agriprocessors plant, being opened as a non Kosher abattoir, if a suitable buyer can be found.

However with the current over capacity in the United States of 10,000 cattle per week, this is not likely
