United States-Tysons expand meat plant.

UNITED STATES-TYSON EXPAND MEAT PLANT.

The plans for expansion are so that the plant will boost production by 20 million pounds, according to reports.

The expansion will increase yearly production to 75 million pounds of product including Canadian bacon, hot dogs and deli meat.

New slicing lines

Also, Tyson will spend $5 million for the installation of new slicing lines in the plant and in a $12-million project, it is also adding new smokehouses and chillers . The number of new employees Tyson will require has not been stated.

Jerry Menke, general manager of Tyson Deli has said that, "The renovations are expected to be completed this summer, but other details still need to be hashed out. It’s not only important that we’re going to hire some more people, it’s the security of the jobs of the people that are working here."
