GOVERNMENT HELP ARRIVES FOR FARMERS.
Having declared a national emergency on Monday in the farming sector because of the current drought conditions, the government has unveiled a plan to help farmers.
The measures include imported fodder for cattle, suspending tax on farmers, the government will give social assistance and pay electricity and fuel bills.
The announcement was made on Monday night, by President Tabare Vazquez on national television.
The head of one of the leading farm groups, called the government measures very positive.
