VILLAGERS PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION FOR CEREALS EVENT

The Villagers of Chrishall and surrounding villages have come up with a scheme to welcome people to the area for the forthcoming Cereals Event (www.cerealsevent.co.uk) taking place at Chrishall Grange on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th June. Cereals is an annual show for the arable farming industry. Last year (at Wendy, Cambridgeshire) it attracted some 26,500 visitors.

The Villages have embraced the idea and Marcus West, a Churchwarden in Chrishall said "because of our proximity to the show site and the comparative lack of hotels and guest houses in the district, we think that this scheme may prove attractive as well as helping our local churches. All houses are located within 7 miles of the showground".

About ten villagers across the parishes have offered their houses and will endeavour to make the stay of their guests as luxurious as they can. Supper will also be available in the houses. This is a very exciting scheme that can help Cereals benefit the local community where it is located. Bookings are now being taken by the parishioners.
