Welsh ploughing Champion wins gold in Canada
UK competitors pulled off one of their best ever performances -in this year's World Ploughing Contests in Canada - where the first championships were held 50 years ago.
Welsh ploughing champion, Evan Watkin, took the gold medal in the stubble ploughing ahead of Bengt Andersson, Sweden, and Thomas Koenig, Germany
David Wright, Northern Ireland, struck gold in the grassland ploughing, beating Harold Huser, Norway, and Josef Reindl, Austria.
In the reversible ploughing classes the gold medal went to England's James Witty, with William Morrison, Scotland, finishing third.
With all the points combined David Wright took the overall championship, with Evan Watkin second and Bengt Andersson, third.
