Why Farming Matters campaign
FARMERS, retailers and consumers have been invited to speak out on the state of the declining red meat sector as part of the campaign 'Why Beef and Sheep Farming Matters.'
The National Council of Women has released a questionnaire to find information and feedback for the on-going campaign, which will then be put forward to the Government.
The questionnaire targets livestock farmers, suppliers and consumers asking their questions and for their opinions on their individual circumstances.
"We want to give information, stimulate discussion, find the facts, then make a report to submit to Government, to highlight how serious the problem is," said Sheila Eton of the NCW.
"Giving all the people involved – farmers, retailers and consumers – the chance to have their say raises awareness and gives us a more realistic picture on what needs to be done."
