Evershot-based livestock veterinary practice, Synergy Farm Health, hosted a lunchtime celebration for the great and the good of Somerset and Devon livestock farming and their families on Sunday 11 September in honour of one of its directors and two clients who won coveted titles at the national Farmers Weekly Awards.

Synergy Director, Mark Burnell, won the award for Livestock Advisor of the Year, while Synergy clients Neil Baker and John Hoskin were crowned Dairy Farmer of the Year and Beef Farmer of the Year respectively. Duchy Estate tenant farmer, John, also claimed the overall Farmer of the Year title. The awards were presented at a glittering dinner in London last autumn so, as the year of holding the crowns draws to a close, Synergy Farm Health thought it fitting to mark the occasion with a celebratory lunch.

Andrew Davies, Synergy Farm Health managing director comments: "We had only been in business for a year when Mark, Neil and John were awarded these highly acclaimed titles so we were immensely proud to be associated with their success. Last autumn we held a one year anniversary party for 300 of our farming clients and their connections and such was the success of the shin-dig we were lobbied to put on another party. This time we thought it should mark the achievements of those connected to the practice rather than the practice itself. We hope the winning trio will pass their crowns on to some equally deserving winners at the 2011 awards."
