Yemen- Wheat production.

YEMEN.

WHEAT PRODUCTION.

The Yemen, which imports 90% of its wheat, managed to produce 218,000 tons of wheat in 2007, which is an increase of 46%.

Like many counties a turnaround in commodity prices, has seen an increase in production in many developing countries.

However in the case of Yemen, which is classed as a war zone by international insurance companies, the surcharge on freight is more than 100% on normal shipping rates.

This puts an additional burden on the price of all imports
