The Straw Bale Cottage

Accommodation Details

Our straw bale holiday cottages, tucked away in a peaceful corner of East Yorkshire are the perfect place for a relaxing, environmentally friendly holiday in the countryside.

The Straw Bale Cottage and the Straw Bale Cabin are unique and beautiful. We built them ourselves with locally grown wheat straw and a great deal of love and care.

This is sustainable tourism at its best! Natural buildings in a rural setting, renewable energy, local food, organic towels and a whole host of eco features. What better way to unwind?

Simply relax in the natural surroundings or explore the quiet lanes and paths on foot or with the bicycles that we provide for guests to use. Being only one mile from Howden railway station, arrival by train is an easy option. The train is also perfect for those wanting to venture a little further. Plenty to see and do on day trips into Hull, York or Leeds or the smaller towns along the way. Find out more.

Discover the lovely historic market town of Howden, only 3 miles away. Friendly family run shops and restaurants, inspiring architecture and live arts. Find out more.

We do our very best to ensure an enjoyable and memorable holiday for all our visitors.
