Two sheep have died in a suspected livestock worrying incident by a dog in Cumbria.

Between 8am on Wednesday 29th March and 10am on Thursday 30th March, two sheep were killed in a field near to Cotehill.

The deaths may have been caused by dogs, Cumbria Police say.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to PC 1493 Harrison.

Dog owners are reminded to keep their dogs on leads at all times while on farmland where sheep and cattle are grazing, particularly during lambing season.

On 20 March, Police were called to an area of Hexham, Northumberland after reports were made of several sheep being killed after being attacked by dogs.

Officers attended the area known as Hermitage Tyne Green and found two dogs had chased and killed pregnant ewes.
