Call issued to improve knowledge of cabbage stem flea beetle
AHDB has issued a call for research to improve knowledge of the interactions between cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) and winter oilseed rape.
The call forms part of AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds programme of research to understand the impacts arising from the restriction on the use of neonicotinoid seed treatments.
So far, the research has revealed that complex interactions exist between winter oilseed rape and CSFB adults and larvae.
The new call looks to improve the knowledge of these interactions to assist with the development of integrated pest management strategies in winter oilseed rape.
It is anticipated that the work could include, but is not limited to, research on physiological crop tolerance, establishment techniques, drilling dates and varietal tolerance.
AHDB is asking for organisations with a proven experience of conducting relevant high-quality research and communication activities to submit a full proposal for research.
AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds has set aside a maximum budget of £150k over three years to fund the work.
Applications must be submitted by 6 May 2016
Further details about the call are available on the AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds Calls Pages
