Pigs and chickens had to be rescued from a burning farm building near Torrington, Devon yesterday evening.
Fire crews were dispatched from Torrington, Hatherleigh and Bideford to combat the blaze at 4.18pm.
Large amounts of hay and straw were being stored in the building.
Firefighters say 80 percent of the building was damaged by fire and twelve pigs and a number of chickens were rescued and handed back to the owner.
Incident commander Neil Hole said: "Crews worked really hard to save the pigs, many of which were piglets, and several chickens.
"I'm proud of them and we had a lot of help from a neighbouring farmer."
By 7.53pm the fire in the building was under control.
